[About this blog] Inspired by local soccer player Mike Lim during my rookie reporter days at Singapore Polytechnic, I set up this blog in August 2002. I feel that blogging is a novel platform to document interesting facets of my life and my thoughts on certain issues. [Email blogger] ephraim@singnet.com.sg

[officer = can talk big]
today 2lt def commented about my efforts in managing the unit's pride stuff... he said something that struck me....

"aiyah, regulars just make use of nsf to get their promotion"

somewhat true...

i'd always think that as an officer, you should always be open to your men's suggestions... leaders have to listen to feedback from the ground as they do not always know the full picture... they just are involved in management...

just like the way 2lt def can talk to me just like a friend.... and from there, we share our ideas and when we organise something, he is confident that i can do it to the best of my ability on trust...

sometimes my boss always gives unreasonable suggestions and we talk it out... that's the kind of officer that i respect... not those who just bark like dogs (like you know who) and expect to get things done... or those who think they are kings (oh i'm so holy, don't come near my you little servant) atop a hill and don't listen to advice...

so what if you spent ten months in that shithole? respect has to be earned i say...

once again, you are entitled to your own opinion...

peace....
