[About this blog] Inspired by local soccer player Mike Lim during my rookie reporter days at Singapore Polytechnic, I set up this blog in August 2002. I feel that blogging is a novel platform to document interesting facets of my life and my thoughts on certain issues. [Email blogger] ephraim@singnet.com.sg

[Boost for reputation with capture of Mas Selamat Kastari]
When the manhunt for Singapore's most wanted man, Mas Selamat Kastari had occurred, many had speculated and suggested conspiracy theories. It also dealt a blow to Singapore's Ministry of Home Affairs and even Home Affairs Minister Wong Kan Seng, of which many not so nice comments were made.

I had earlier blogged about this and commented that the escape and dent on Home Affairs Minister Wong Kan Seng would be a point that the opposition could use come the next General Elections.

Now that the truth is out and the fugitive has been caught, the issue would add points to the minister's reputation.

What is most important then is not to point fingers and judge who was wrong in this case. Further, those who had been responsible for the escape have been given their due punishment.

The only thing we can do now is to learn from this severe mistake. Like what Prime Minister Lee had said: "Let's move on."
