[About this blog] Inspired by local soccer player Mike Lim during my rookie reporter days at Singapore Polytechnic, I set up this blog in August 2002. I feel that blogging is a novel platform to document interesting facets of my life and my thoughts on certain issues. [Email blogger] ephraim@singnet.com.sg

[ioc appreciation]
was at the ioc appreciation dinner today and there was a surprise visit by our president himself...

it was his first visit after returned unopposed for a second term...

and so, the guests there ranged from media people, performers, volunteers and ministers...

and dr vivian balakrishnan spoke to me... only one sentence though... but it was an honour...

at the dinner, most people kept asking about the auction...

it was a success raising $100 for the straits times school pocket money fund...

and i will be presenting the cheque to them soon...

[what's your favourite funpack colour]
red, orange, green and blue...

the four colours of the funpacks for this year's ndp...

and i have got all four colours!!!

i received the red one at the preview of the ndp... it was placed nicely though a bit wet on my seat at the grandstand...

and i asked my manager for the orange one out of our 400 funpacks at the office for celebration@tampines...

the green one was given to me for helping out to distribute funpacks on national day...

and the blue one was given to me by a colleague...

and so i have all four colours!!

and a few days ago, i was asked to unpack close to 60 funpacks that was uncollected during national day...

and boy, what a task it was....

but i managed to pull through....

[unglam ndp]
it was a special ndp for me this year...

no seats at the padang and no dinner with the family this year...

but...

i was slogging in the hot sun with close to 5000 funpacks...

and a lot of naggy old women... and unreasonable uncles...

it was an afternoon spent distributing funpacks at the celebration@tampines....

and with my organiser pass, i managed to sneak backstage to catch a glimpse of fly entertainment artiste aaron aziz...

i also saw michelle chia but she went to hide in her tent before i could even say "hi" when she came down from the stage...

[hougang celebrates]
it's time to celebrate the nation's birthday again...

and what better way to have a party with our very own foreign affairs minister...

together with northeast cdc's mayor mr zainul abidin rasheed and members of parliament in aljunied grc it was a grand toast to singapore's big four zero....

that scene was unveiled before my very eyes... a great first for me when it comes to national day dinners...

pity, i missed a photo opportunity with minister george yeo as i was enjoying the dinner in my office and missed him when he left the building...
